Milan, Italy

When I think of Milan, the first thing that comes to my mind is the fashion industry. Besides Paris and New York, Milan is all about fashion. If you are all about fashion, you must come to Milan. The shopping is not to be believed.

Duomo is a large Gothic cathedral. There are more than 2,000 statues to see and admire. This cathedral is the largest Gothic Cathedral in the world and is the center of this bustling city. Of course, you will want to spend some time here between shopping trips.

Even if you are not interested in Opera, you must go to La Scala. If you are very lucky you might even get a chance to hear an opera in this wonderful theater. There is an opera museum here where you can see theatrical memorabilia, including some fine pieces belonging to Verdi.

Whether or not you have read the Da Vinci Code or not, you must visit Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece The Last Supper. It is displayed in the Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie. If you can, spend time with this priceless piece of art work. For you Dan Brown fans, look closely and test some of his ideas. To see this painting, you must make an appointment and are only allowed fifteen minutes per person, so make your time worthwhile.

Shopping, beautiful art works, wonderful food, and friendly people make Milan one of the loveliest places in Italy.
